AND RAINS SHALL COME
“And Rains Shall Come” is a story of a woman, three men and a quest for love that never ends. Rimjhim is in an estranged marriage with Abhra. They live under the same roof but are separated by a wide gulf of differences. Rimjhim seeks love from Abhra but Abhra’s mind is elsewhere. Perturbed by Abhra’s aloofness and sexual coldness, the restless Rimjhim pursues her dreams
of passion and excitement, whatever they may cost and gets into a tumultuous affair with the wild and charming Ishan who is much younger than her. While it starts as a perfectly passionate partnership, soon Ishan’s possessiveness starts hurting Rimjhim as much as Abhra’s endless indifference. While Rimjhim is still confused about her own desires and preferences, a third man enters her life – the suave and enigmatic Aamir. Torn and perplexed, Rimjhim is weighed down by guilt, passion and pathos. Panged by a never quenched desire to be loved, yet realizing that there are no fairytale romances in real life, Rimjhim wants to end her life, but has her lust for life truly ended? Does her endless search for the proverbial Prince Charming lead her to finding her true self? The film is an ode to modernity and the growing emptiness, isolation and banality of today’s life--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
